This is a continuation of the first session with the x1.5 TC between the extension and the adapter. With the lens set at f11, the combined effect of the crop factor and the TC made the effective aperture f22 (full frame).

EM-1 Printing Nikkor 150mm on extension for just under 1:1, ISO 200, triple flash, hand-held, with some support. Due to a change of the weather during the session, this was continued in cramped conditions in a greenhouse. This was very tiring, with the 1kg lens, making for shaky hands. Thus, I could probably do better in better conditions. However, the results are encouraging.

The subject was growing on a slender apple tree twig, and was far from flat, as shown in the stereo, It really used all the additional DOF.

The stereo is cross-eye.

The main lichen is Xanthoria parientina in its green form, with Physcia in the first image.

There is some residual noise from the bokeh in the background, which I am content to tolerate at this stage of the project, normal NR having been done.

Some more, better stereos now added as a reply.

Harold

Thanks. Some different, and I believe, better ones to appear shortly. However, they will be stereos.

Here are some more cross-eye stereos. For these I was able to sit down on a dry bench and rest my arms on a table. There was must lest shaking of my hands than in the previos session. The only technical difference is that these were shot at 1:1 at the sensor, 2:1 in the frames. The stereo-making software crop, as necessary, to align each pair.
