blue triangle butterfly
During the day - especially during the summer in Brisbane - these are a real pain to get at lower than 1/2000 or so without blurring at least somewhere. Had terrible luck during the night lately too for that matter - has barely been below about 20-23c at any time of day for ages, and even swiping a dimmed LED over a tree with bugs in it at 3am sends them all flying since they're hot and wide awake. But - luckily one night I found one of these in a dark corner of the yard after an overcast day with some rain and a cool breeze and I could shoot it however I liked.

I agree.
The legs of the same colour as the wing markings really tie this together.

The angles were a pain - just unfortunate location in the middle of a bunch of orb weaver webs, strands of dead branches, etc. Had to be careful not to disturb the butterfly at night and not have it end up as dinner flying around blindly
Just realised I probably got the same guy a few mornings beforehand -
Have a whole bunch of shots of trying to get it with the 60mm on zinnia elegans flowers during the day, but like I said, they are really deceptively fast even when they're feeding and still, almost everything has some blur problem on the wings.
