Wind buffeted gnat

Blowing an absolute gale outside - it's amazing how these gnats or midges, whichever it is, can somehow hold on in such strong gusts of wind. I lifted the lid on the garden wheelie bin and this was underneath the rim of the lid. Couple of shots, the first as it stuck its head and looked around (you can see evidence of the wind moving the antennae a bit) and the second after it had got gusted a bit farther along, and you can see one wing caught in motion from the wind above the other wing...

Nice work.
I was greeted by a cloud of moth-flies as I opened the lid of our compost bin yesterday. The season has started.
