It looks so very harsh and rugged and otherworldly. I like the square crop. Not much color which gives it that harsh look. Nice...

William Wallace may have hung out here.....

Man, can anybody see the Orc peeking from behind that thing?!?!?!? rolleyes1.gif

Seriously, it looks like the land of the protagonists in Lord of the Rings or something similar.

    Great shot!!

Thanks all. It has to be the most surreal mountain I've ever climbed. Castell y Gwynt translates to Castle of Wind, and Glyders translates to 'heap of rocks'. And the whole mountain range is like a heap of loose rocks.
Lord of the Rings haven't been here, but apparently Disneys Dragon Slayer has! I'm not surprised.
Just need to build up the guts to climb this one in the dark for a sunrise shot. Bit of a hairy climb!

    Thanks!

We're too far south for William Wallace, but Snowdon in the background is steeped in myth and legend of King Arthur, so who knows?! mwink.gif

To my mind, it's more menacing and magical than the highest peak - Snowdon.

Spectacular! How long did it take you to climb?

Thanks, I stopped to take a few shots on the way, probably took about 2 hours to climb. Bit hairy with the snow and one arm taken up carrying the tripod! I'm determined to get up the for sunrise one day!
