I took the long route back from Daytona and stopped in New Smyrna Beach.

I think I got slightly carried away in post-processing.

    There's a lot to like about this shot. Exclusive of the PP treatment, this bird commonly makes for an interesting subject...particularly close up. Common " rules " of photography all fall into place. The myriad of reflections add a lot to the shot.

    As for the PP work, it really boils down to personal preference. I'd say your self-diagnosis is probably accurate. In this case, I like the results.

    Thanks Tom and Willard. A pelican, in this area, is a sitting duck to photograph so I have to
    do something to make it not just another pelican shot.
