Sidebar logo image auto resize?

For some reason I can't figure out, Smugmug is auto resizing my logo at the top of my sidebar.
I currently have the sidebar sized at 300 pixels
(Customize > Content & Design > Entire Site > Layout > Sidebars > Left=On > Left Width = 300 px)
and have a logo .png file that measures 300 x 60 pixels.
When I load it however, it gets resized down to approx 150-175 pixels.
I've tried loading a wider graphic (500 pixels) which does not get resized.
Any ideas where I should look to resolve this issue?
I'll leave the small, resized image so you can see it...

If I choose a design/theme with a vertical sidebar with the logo at the top and then the nav menu underneath, sidebar set to 300 px wide, then the logo file which is 300x60 gets downsized to 150x30.
If I choose a design/theme where the logo is across the top of the site then my logo file, in this case 500x100, gets downsized to 400x80.
I can't figure out what is causing this. In both cases left and right margins are set to zero.
