Blur - the New Rust?

I like the motion blur shots that have been appearing so I thought I'd toss a few of mine out for your perusal. I usually use this for tree shots (I call it "tree painting") but I sometimes try other subjects. Hope you enjoy.

A very nice set. My pick would be #2.

It's great seeing all the different types of blurs, and motion shots. I may have to jump on the wagon myself.

Thanks, guys! I keep several in my smugmug gallery. I like this approach because there are no rules--just play around and see what happens.

First of all, Lauren, I'm real happy to see you being a little more active with your work lately. You've always had a knack for the blurred/abstract approach and these shots, particularly 2 and 3, really stand out.

    Take care,

    Tom

Nice blur Lauren! #3 is my favorite!
And, yes, blur seems to hold the similar promise of creative reward as rust... perhaps, without so much slider work!

Thanks, Cristobal. Have any blurs you can share with us?

Thanks, Jo! BTW, I like your avatar--are those your dogs? I have always been interested in Cavaliers but know nothing other than what they look like.

Eric, if you really want to explore the use of sliders with blur the opportunity is there. I have also used the blur approach on some rusty subjects. Lots of options!

Tom, thanks for stopping by and also for the note. I will get back to you.

    And one more for fun:

Lauren - Yes those are/were my Cavaliers. We've had four over the years. We have only one now - he is the puppy in the Avatar. Cavaliers are loving pets who are friendly and easy going. I've never heard of a vicious Cavalier - our Wally is probably the most assertive Cav we've had and he is still far from being aggressive - just spoiled! The only drawback I can think of is that they shed a new dog every day! A good vacuum is a required accompaniment when adopting a Cavalier!

And I love the last shot you posted!
