EXIF

I really like the look of the Northern Flicker, but I've been having a hell of a time getting one without branches, shadows covering it. Maybe some day.

Nice pix Steve, but the branches in front of the Flicker are a little
distracting.lol3.gif Overall, though, they are pretty good. Kevin (the 'tail clipper')

Beautiful Steve, even with the branches, but is PS a bad word to deal with a few branches in the way?

    Thank you Dallas.

Is PS a bad word??? I've seen this debated on several bird/nature BBS's. Some feel that cloning is practically a mortal sin, others have no problems with it. I guess I'm in the middle, I have no problem cloning out minor problems, and would consider it in this case if it was an exceptional shot. Guess I don't think the effort is worth it in this case.

I do think that if nature shots are taken in an "unnatural" environment (zoo, etc.) or areas cloned then this should be noted in the description of the picture. Just my opinion though, but I do feel that captures taken in the animals natural environment are much more meaningful.

Thanks for the comments Ben, Jeff and Vandana.

I'm not sure about the color under the wings on the ones up here. It sounds like there is a fair bit of color variation. I'm still trying to get close enough to get better images. These guys have not been very cooperative. I hope you and Ben have better luck.

15524779-Ti.gif The flicker shots is fine as is. I don't mind cloning out some distracting elements from a shot but I don't like to do any major alterations.

    The robin shot is exceptional.thumb.gif
