For those unfamiliar with British culture, an unwelcome third individual present during a romantic encounter is often referred to as a "gooseberry".

These Bryony Ladybirds Henosepilachna argus were seen in our garden for the first time last year. All life stages, pert from eggs were seen

Several individuals were present on the same Bryony plant as last year. That was yesterday. Today, a much warmer day, finds non present.

I liked this little scene, with the lone individual appearing to pretend that it hasn't seen the other two.

EM-1, Kiron 105mm macro, f16, twin flash, hand-held.

Image considerably cropped.

    Thanks, Brian.

One of my images, of one of the more static individuals, shows what looked a bit like tips of braconid cocoons under its rear end. Some species e.g C. septempunctata have one enormous parasitic larva emerge from them and I think you may have captured this several years ago.

I have just been outside briefly and there are a pair perfectly posed on the upper side of a leaf, catching up where they left off. I got a lovely set of images. They will appear sometime in the next few days.
