While it's an interesting lens, I'll reserve judgement until the professional reviews appear. The short focal length may make it less appealing for some subject matter, but the light weight plus built-in dual (macro) lighting plus 1.2:1 macro capabilities plus I.S. all may combine to make a nice general purpose standard/normal focal length prime, with a fast enough aperture (f3.5) to cover a number of applications beyond macro.
Since the EF-M series lenses only consist of one additional prime lens, the Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM, an additional prime like this is welcome.
(Of course one can already add EF and EF-S mount lenses via the "Mount Adapter EF-EOS M" and similar adapters.)
