15524779-Ti.gifthumb.gif I try to think of the families too... so many sacrifices.

Today, while watching local news coverage of a Memorial Day celebration aboard the USS Midway Museum on San Diego Bay, I got my yearly, personalized, reminder...
One of the podium speakers - Stu, a Pearl Harbor Survivor (not very many left!) - was a man I worked with 37 years ago... he retired that year.
He's as sharp as ever, and speaks every year at Veteran events in San Diego (honoring those lost, and those who survived) and is featured on TV most years.
He always wears a Hawaiian shirt and his Pearl Harbor Survivor commemorative hat and medals.
I'm tickled to see him each time, and remain amazed at the longevity of his retirement... One can only hope to get a run like Stu has had... especially considering the extreme danger he survived, and
all the comrades he lost, all those years ago... bowdown.gif

Lovely and respectful Sam. That first BW with the larger flags is breathtaking.

    Thanks Sam.

Thanks to all the men and women who serve, and have served.
I don't know where I'm going, but I'm going anyway.
