Two types of asparagus beetle

I came across both types of asparagus beetle on a wild asparagus plant today. Apparently the Spotted asparagus beetle (Crioceris duodecimpunctata) is less of a pest than the common asparagus beetle, (Crioceris asparagus).

Whatever their merits and demerits, they are very beautiful beetles.

An excellent set.

We get the spotted one on our asparagus and I managed to document the whole life cycle last year. I have not seen the other species.
