Over the weekend, I went to Palo Duro Canyon in Western TX- apparently the 2nd largest canyon in the US after of course...
some pics -
It was a little cloudy, not great lighting - but good weather for a hike. Hiked a 6mile loop to a "lighthouse'"
the trail -
some horsemen passed us in classic cowboy style -
reached the "lighthouse' -

On the way back, the sunset set pretty brilliantly to a good day's end..

My hubby's from Texas, the panhandle. He didn't tell me about this canyon. It's very pretty, love the colors. That was a nice sunset too! I thought the lighting was nice and soft, showed up all the "red" colors of the rocks very nicely. Looks like you had a terrific hike.
