LFE - Low Fog Event

Chased it forever but never timed it. Finally got to shoot it even though I had some lens issues. Missed even better event next morning.....can't wait till next time!

All criticism is cherished!

Cool stuff. As you said, timing is everything. Since I lived in SF for almost 20 years, I've seen many, many GGB-towers-poking-through-the-fog shots. The bar is set pretty high to stand out. You got the towers well, but for me the traffic detracts from the ethereal feeling of the rest. If you use a panoramic crop to eliminate the traffic, each of them is improved. I think #4 works especially well that way. Just my .02€.

Thanks Richard! Hope was to get traffic shine from bottom but there was clearing. I already cropped over 30-40% from bottom. I would try more! Cheers!

I think they're terrific, but I've never lived in the Bay Area and these are novel to me.

    Thanks Cristobal and Denise!
Fog was rushing in and kicking up and down....in between I found favorable light....otherwise most of the time no visibility.

    Cheers guys!

Thanks Don!! LFE has become holy grail for most photos. Towers are 750 feet high so has to be lower and ideally some good light to go with it. Problem is that weather science is inaccurate and fog is most unpredictable of all weather elements so you have to try over and over.....

Hope you catch it some time!

    Cheers!

Actually, I like #1 a lot also, but the foreground oof blob of fog detracts, imo...
Actually I like # 4 an awful-lot also! (headlights are a little hot).
    Cool stuff dude!

More knockout work my friend. I've got to hand it to you; you don't back off from challenging photo situations. The results you got here are terrific.

I like each shot. I, too, think I'd like #4 even more by going to the pano look and eliminating any direct shore light at the bottom.

    See you, buddy,

    Tom
I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Tom, I am always overjoyed and humbled by your support! This POV I chose is not the most popular or at all, but I wanted to try it and it gave me that hole in foreground. This type of event occurs 2-3 type a year at most and in order to catch it you have to chase 15. I hope I am lucky enough to catch it again and capture it from more popular POVs.

    Cheers!

Not sure how I missed these. Excellent work thumb.gifthumb. All are fine images, but I'm partial to #4. I would be tempted to crop The bottom of 4 right at the suspension cables, as the light trail is a bit bright.

2nd thought, I would just tone down the lights and leave the comp as is.

I don't know where I'm going, but I'm going anyway.

Thanks Phil! Appreciate the comment truly!
I will look into both suggestions.
the light that are hot at bottom, I have attempted already to calm them down so will check them again and crop may be my only option.
Took many exposures but I guess my darkest was not dark enough, so next time will bracket -2 and beyond. Cheers!
