Burrowing Owl?

Captured last night with the Canon 7D2 and 420 mm at iso 6400 f/5-6. Not sure if these are burrowing owls or pygmy owls.

Kinda looks like a burrowing owl; they are not as brown as a pygmy if I remember....let us know if you find out!

Look up Whiskered Screech Owl, southern AZ, Tucson at top of range. I know nothing about these, just looking thru book.

That's a beautiful shot, Dan. I'd guess that it is a Western Screech Owl - pretty common down around your parts.

Thanks, Eric. Western Screech owls have conspicuous ear tufts, and this guy has none.
