Large Ichneumon wasp

Finally managed to get a couple of reasonable shots of one of these large Ichneumon wasps- Amblyteles species.
These drive me to distraction each year by always flying off when you get with 2 feet of them.
This one stayed put for a little while allowing me to do some focus stacks.

    These drive me to distraction each year by always flying off when you get with 2 feet of them.

    I find that they may also disappear down between the stems of grass and other, low-growing vegetation.

    Great job getting such good shots.
