Which 24-70/2.8 L would you pick

Which would you pick:

(a) Lens shows some distortion around perimeter but excellent focus (may have turned into a pixel-peeper)

(b) Lens shows less distortion but has consistent front focus issue - focuses to back edge of focus window at 2.8.

(c) None of the above - look for another copy

Both lenses are new therefore in warranty.

I'm astonished that you have two brand new 24-70s and find fault with both of them.

I really have no problems with the one that front focuses.

Both units (camera and lens), as with all products, are built/adjusted within certain tolerances so if both units are adjusted toward the same end of the scale it can create a mismatch as opposed to offsetting each other. Probably just fine on most other units. My test was compared to my 70-200mm, 85mm, 50mm, & the other 24-70mm all of which were within the focus window @ 2.8.

If I had time to send the front focuser (on my unit) in for calibration I'd keep it because it really doesn't have any problems. So I only find a slight fault in one of them.
