Creating new theme's

How do you create a new theme from some other theme rather than typing in all the settings

This is what I've done:

Customize > Choose a New Site Design > "Theme Here" > Choose

Then you'll see:

"Apply Design?" > Custom > Entire Site > Settings > Design Name > "Rename It/Copy"
