My favourite bird is without a doubt the pelican. So large and graceful with frequent bouts of clumsiness :rofl
Here's a few from a wet, overcast, pre-sunrise shoot today.

Gangway!!!...

I've caught the dreaded DGRIN disease of chopping off wings :D

Thanks for looking folks.

    Pleasure is all mine.
Camera is a 350D with the 70-200 f/4 L. I guess i'm lucky i like the Pelican so much as it's the only bird I can get close enough to with this short lens :D .

Great shots - the Pelican is one of my favorites as well. Nature's other Surfers.

I enjoy taking pelican shots too due to the amount of character they have and how close you can get and that second shot is an absolute winner.
    May I take your picture?

Thanks everyone. thumb.gif Praise from the gang in DGRIN is knowing you've done something pretty well.
You're all invited to my place anytime you want to drop in. Just give me a couple of hours notice so I can chuck the party pies in the oven and get the beer on ice rolleyes1.gif .
