These brown butterflies Aphantopus hyperanthus live in our garden each summer. A pair moved in at about the beginning of July. They like the long-grassy nature of parts of our garden.

EM-1 (manual mode), Kiron 105, f16, twin TTL flash, hand-held.

    Very nice Harold! If mind, I would take of tad from top of first one, makes subject come in focus more....Cheers!

    Always a problem to know quite how to crop. I always start by considering the classic thirds but give priority to removing peripheral highlights and objects which intrude.

    Just to clarify, in response to a comment elsewhere, the second image is not a crop.
