Oak eggar moth

I nearly trod on this beautiful moth when I was taking the shopping in the house. Took a few shots in situ and then moved it to a nearby lace hydrangea. Took a few shots. The sun then came out and the moth moved to the underside of leaf.

An excellent set.
The males fly in the afternoon sun and the females fly at dusk. Doesn't look like a promising relationship!
