    Nice flare but on my monitor it has a very strong purple cast and some banding in the upper left. Intentional?

    It's not the normal banding direction, it appears it's from the flare vectors ... (my guess)

    Almost like someone got their first camera in 1950s and ran out and aimed at the sun.....am I right?

    No... I frequently shoot into the sun

    I have some experience shooting into the sun

    In the original post I took about 5 frames to get the sun star and the one I chose had the ribbon of flare that I felt was important to the image

    Those are wonderful images! On very first one of the set bit of tree sneaking into the frame from bottom.
    The sun in all the new images is mellow, either just rising or setting...
    In the "Autumn Vineyard' it has no information....the corners have either filter or some effect...
    My point was that maybe attempt was to showcase an amateur photo.....if not, then I am missing the art.....
