Cardoon Flower Portraits with Improved 3D
These are when the flower has extended further. The last frame shows interest from a bumble bee and a hoverfly.
Again, I used triple flash. This time, the left unit was held in my hand, well forward and high, while I handled the camera with only my right hand, not an option for daylight exposure.
This was the flower at its peak of development. Within hours the stamens had shrivelled and many were detached.
