Hi All,
Been a lurker for a few weeks now after stumbling upon this great website ! Decided to post a picture to get started. I heavily saturated and bumped contrast in PS for the blue. The photos I've seen here @ Dgrin have inspired me to learn and practice more. Thanks.

Great use of the foreground, sweet light, well exposed (tough conditions too!), strong colours contrast. Excellent stuff!
Think you have gone a little too far on the blue and maybe some sharpening is required, can we see the original?
Thanks for delurking, hope to see more of your shots!

Sorry the original was deleted from the camera after uploading to iphoto. I took this photo with a "ultra compact" Sony Cybershot T-1 5.1 mega pixel. I've come to realize that the type of photos I want to take are ( ultra long exposure, painting with light, panoramic landscapes, etc.) are not attainable with my shirt pocket camera. That being said..the advantages of its small size are that I ALWAYS have it on me, and thus more prone to use it. it will be a nice partner to have once i graduate to a dslr. Thanks for the kind words !
Cheers,

Thanks for the tip..so what is "DOF" ?? Something regarding focus I'm sure..I origanally was really trying to capture the pristine blue within the ice..the bridges just background..but now that my attention has been drawn to it, your right...a sharp bridge would have been nice.
Depth Of Field....
Have a look at this thread, for an explanation etc
