Faux HDR at Mount Rainier's Spray Falls

Better half and I got to spend a few days poking around Mount Rainier last month. Gorgeous. Need to find a way to move to WA.
I didn't have my camera set to bracket photos--whoops--but I took this raw file, over and under exposed it in NX-D and then used a layer in Elements 8 to make a sort of HDR.
Overall, for never having done it and not having current software to work with, I'm fairly happy with how it came out. Any suggestions/comments/criticisms are very welcome.
