Yes, that Bush.

One of the trademarks of President George Bush's handlers is their ability to control the background for his public appearances. They go into excruciating detail to make sure the visual environment for TV and still cameras supports the message their boss is delivering.

Which is why it's a real surprise when they make a mistake.

Check out the slideshow to which I'm linking. Photo #2 and photo #7 are surely not what the White House advance team had in mind down in New Orleans for the President's latest trip. :lol3

I'm pretty sure someone's in a lot of trouble for this. :uhoh

I see the joker on photo 5 and 10 -- but a great find, Waxy!

Now here's where the advance team obviously spent their energy and money.

This is the same trip, but a slightly more controlled environment - a podium instead of a conference table. It's what the advance team is more accustomed to. And as you can see in this shot, the background supports the positive message that was the reason for the President's visit.

Maybe bad handling, but great photojournalism, eh?
    If not now, when?

Sid, I'm glad you posted this. I saw it, copied it and saved it but thought twice about posting it here because of past political confrontations.
