A rather lucky find.

Lovely capture. I can't really see but might that be a syrphid larva?

Thanks Harold. Not a hoverfly larvae but I suspect a moth. I get the same caterpillars on the potentillas and ox-eye daisies every year.

In that case, the pattern matches that of the Lead-coloured Pug Eupithecia plumbeolata.
