A hoverfly story

I was trying to photograph a fly on a rhododendron leaf when this large hoverfly landed on my hand. A Volucella zonaria female.
Hello I said - hello, I need to ask you a favour she replied.
I'm looking for a wasp nest to lay my eggs in and it's getting a bit urgent, do you know of any around here ?
Yes I replied, there's one over here. I took her over to large wasp nest in the flower border. She took off and landed near the entrance. Oh yes this is just right she said.
And with that she took off and flew into the wasp nest entrance
The talk may be fictional but the action is real.

A great story (I'm not sure that the wasps would agree) and an excellent series.

Thanks Harold for the comments. I'm not sure the hoverfly larvae do any harm in the nest (just eat detritus).
