Hi All,

I haven't posted in a while, so I thought I would share a few photos I have taken today.

These photos are of some well-known silos on Melbourne's Yarra River...

Nice work, I like #1 more because of the reflection but they are both great.

    Cheers

    Hi JC,

I can't decide which one I like best, I love the reflection of the first shot, but wide angle shot really adds to the whole screen.

    Hey Nigel,

Thanks for your comments, I was totally surprised how nice the silos came up. Good to see another aussie here, especially a Melbournian. :D

If the second one had more reflection I would prefer that one.
    Both very cool shots though.clap.gif

    Hey Crispin,

There was little more reflection in the original version of #2, but I decided to crop and go with a 20x10 aspect ratio.

Great shots, both of them. What makes them so good is the reflection in the first one and wide angle view in the second. In addition, the contrast between the blue sky and the orange light is fantastic. Well done!

The first is excellent thumb.gif but I'm not so keen on the second.
I was trying to work out why headscratch.gif

The reflections make a big difference to me, but I think the positioning of the bridge (not paricularly appealing without the lights and reflections) is important too.
In the second it lies about a 1/3 of the way up the shot and subsequently draws your eye & become the main subject.
In the first the silos, neons and reflections occupy those important 1/3 intersections, engaging your eye and giving the shot much more balance ne_nau.gif

    Hey Gubbs,

    Thanks for in-depth analysis :D

To be honest, when I cropped the second shot...I did it pretty quickly and not much thought went into to it. I might have another go and post that.

    Thanks,
