i don't know why I'm not understanding how to upload from smug mug I'm just not getting it

I looked at the post you tried to make in Landscapes. The link you supplied was to your home page on SmugMug, not to an image, so it didn't work. In SmugMug, open the image you want to post in the lightbox. At the bottom, click on the little share icon. Then click on "Choose size" and select the size you want. Copy the URL that appears below to the clipboard, then paste it into the image popup box on Dgrin.

Oh, one important thing: the gallery that holds the image on SmugMug must be set to allow external links and not be password protected.
