Problem with Background Image Quality

I just started building a photo/travel site yesterday. I've been having some issues in terms of the background image quality on my homepage.

The original image uploaded is 4751px x 3167 px so not particularly small. I've tried setting it as the background image via the "background image" setting in content and design and I've also tried going into Theme, pressing the tool and set it as a background that way. The latter allowed me to play around with the image size but the quality still seems to be rather low.

I've opened the site in Chrome/Firefox on my Macbook and PC (dual monitor) so three monitors in total. Am I doing something wrong here? Normally I'm very good with stuff like this but I'm stumped.

Whenever we display photos, even as a background image, we'll always respect the "Max Display Size" setting you've set in the gallery - we don't want to ever expose high resolution photos unless you allow it. Your background image is selected from your Rio gallery, which has a "Max Display Size" of "XLarge" (or about 1024px wide).

What I typically do is create a special "Background Photos" gallery with a higher max display size (or set to Original), and always set my background photos from that.

Fantastic! I knew it had to be a maximum display setting somewhere causing that. Thanks so much!
