Page redirection on folder move

I'd like to move a folder with some galleries under another folder, but I have already sent links to the original folder to lots of people.
How can I redirect from the original folder to the new one in a manner that's transparent to the users?

I'm not aware of any automatic redirection.

You might consider adding an HTML content block to the original folder that contains a link to the new folder location. Assuming that you have already moved the folder containing the galleries, create a new folder with the old name at the old location and place the HTML content block in it. Add some text and a link to the moved folder. After a period of time you may want to delete the folder you are using to redirect.

Note that you will want to use Customize... Content and design... +Make this folder custom to place the content block on just that folder.

Isn't there an HTML code to automatically redirect to another page without requiring the user to click on something?

I found a page discussing how to automatically redirect a web page. Unfortunately none of the methods discussed there are available to you on your SmugMug site. You can't add an entry to the <head> section of the page, and JavaScript is not supported.

Maybe change the custom URL on the new folder to the name of the old folder and change the old folder's custom URL to another name.
