I'm still trying to get the hang of photographing the desert. Criticism would be welcome.

OMG! Mercy!

First one was awesome, and then it kept getting better with every shot!clapbow

If I am going to nit pick.....you couldn't do anything about it....but wish the road was cleaner....or less texture.....matter of taste I suppose.....

Some of these need to be framed!!

Very nice -- I know what you mean about capturing the desert; I find this landscape difficult.
These are great. #1 is good with lighting and all but the saguaro sticking out of the middle of the cholla is not my taste - and I say not MY taste.

I find the rest framed nicely.

I'm a sucker for shadows so I think the last one is my favorite but I wonder where the shadow ends. It would have furthered back the saguaro but I think I would have tried for a full shadow? And yes...the tire tracks are just a wee bit polluting the scene.

3 and 4 are outstanding too - the mountain as a background really show the color and the saguaro standing stately.

AnnaMaria, thanks for the comments. I think there are identifiable reasons why this mind of landscape is difficult to photograph. I'm still looking for good solutions to the recurrent problems.
