Carousel Navigation to Source Images???

I have Carousel on my home page sourced from a gallery of personal favorite photos. It would be nice if visitors could click on any one of the pics to take them to the source gallery for full page display and captions, but I can't find a way to enable that. Maybe it was never intended, or am I missing something that's too obvious for me to see?
