Changing Site Designs - Keeping Customizations

Since changing my site a couple years ago, I haven't made many (any!) changes - time for a refresh!

I at least want to change the design of the front page, although I think I'd like the gallery pages to remain the same. Maybe they stay about the same anyway.

What is the easiest way to change the homepage from Smokey to Sierra? Can this be done while keeping some of the customization already in place - i.e. menu, logo, etc. If I select Sierra I seem to need to start this from scratch.

There may be other questions once I get this in place but I'll start here! Sorry if this is simple and I'm missing something, I haven't done any updates in to long ... gotta get refreshed on this!

I think I got this all figured out ... or, what did move over I went ahead and re-customized. Feel free to delete this thread (since I can't find an option for that!).
