Very tired late season darters

I had not expected to find any dragonflies today, but the weather was unseasonable warm (13°) and there was a significant number moustached darters (Sympetrum vulgatum, vagrant darter) about. Including a number of mating pairs.

Good captures- they are late in the year.

I suppose they will survive if they can find insects to eat.

Yes … I just checked back and we were seeing them until 10th December last year. But with virtually nothing left to eat.
