Can't figure out the lightbox transparency

Hi, I'm new to Smugmug, but a long time reader.
i'm customizing my website to my liking, but there is something that is really gettting me trouble.
I want to make the lightbox as transparent as possible (or at least something acceptable to me), so whenever i open a photo, it shows the actual background of it.
I just don't like the huge amount of space that the lightbox takes with empty "nothing".
I tried several CSS codes, some found here, some in other websites like Aaron Mayer's, none seem to work.
Already tried the ""transparent background" in the lightbox customization menu, and just changes from plain black to gray (my main site color).
What am i doing wrong?
I tried to post a link to my website but i have to be "around a little longer" to post links.
Thanks in advance!

You can post your site without the http:// or the www, like 'mysite.com'
I'm using this on my site to change the lightbox background color. You can change the color '#111' to 'none' to make it transparent.

First, it didn't work, then i realized that i used some code to make the lightbox always show the whole caption , and it was somehow overlapping every transparency code i used.
