Hey Jack,
Good to see a local native from back home. I'm actually from Selma, CA.
Thanks for the look,
Mikko
Hello Ana,
I'm glad that you like my pics. Number three is a very odd pic since there is no water out there. That photo was taken in Nightmare Gulch, which is my favorite area of Red Rock. However, it is only open for a few months of the year.
By the way I checked out your site and all I can say is very, very nice.
Thanks,
Mikko
Glad you guys like these pictures. Have you guys been out there before? If not Aero-Nut and I are thinking about puting an outing together for Red Rock Canyon.
Thanks for the look,
Mikko

Gubbs,
Thanks for the comments. If you are ever out in California you have to check out the Mojave Desert, there is so much out here.
As for the dark skies I always use a circular polarizer almost 100% of the time. I prefer B&W slim polarizers they are costly but work better than any other that I have tried even on my wide angle which I use about 90% of the time.
Thanks for look,
Mikko
Rohirrim,
Thanks for the look. I took a look at your sight and noticed that you are really into wild life. Red Rock Canyon actually shuts down Nightmare Gulch for half the year so that the indangered hawks (birds of prey) can mate. You can actually hike about a mile to the edge of the canyon and photograph them. There are also all kinds of other animals and reptiles out there.
Thanks for the look,
Mikko

Hi Mikko,
I moved to Clovis from NYC in '03 and have really enjoyed it!
I'm thinking of making a trip to Mojave as part of my "pre-shootout" excursion in May - any tips on location would be most appreciated! It's a big desert out there.

Hey Jack,
Hows it going? What route are you taking to Utah? How much time will you have? PM me and I'll let you know what areas are worth while.
Thanks,
Mikko
Thanks for the complements and taking a look.

Once again you have proven that you have a great touch with the high-contrast B&W landscape shots. Excelent work! I am always impressed with your landscapes.
Thanks for posting them.

Jack,
If your plans finalize, and you are coming out to this area (Mojave) we should definately go on a desert shoot. Mikko and I have done quite a bit of shooting in the area.
