Square Thumbnails not working?

I have Square Thumbnails set in gallery settings and none of the uploaded photos show a Square Thumbnail. The message image, last in gallery, that I uploaded after creating the gallery is square so it worked the other day.

It just reversed the one square thumb I had when first creating the gallery. Now none square
although always set for square in settings since gallery creation.

What gives, I just lost all my square thumbs with special crops in this gallery. That's a couple hours of work lost.

At least the crop thumbnail tool still works. I cropped the first photo back to square.
Imagine having to go thru every photo in the gallery and using the tool to get a square thumb?
This gallery: Gallery settings have always been set to square.

Square thumbs should be working fine. I toggled it on your gallery and all the thumbs are square -- though your custom crop on the first photo was removed again.

This gallery as are all other bird galleries had been set to square upon original creation.
This is getting very bad when old galleries are affected.

Oh my gosh, setting a crop did this. Looks like a Ti instead of Th.

All these crops bad (was 1x1 from original gallery setting)
1 / 16 crop 1x1 w/zoom
11 / 16 lost crop
13 / 16 crop 1x1 no zoom or shift
14 / 16 crop 1x1 w/zoom

I do notice that the default square thumb size is now 100x100. When the new Smug was first opened they were 90x90.

Forget this, they change size with browser sizing. Looks like they are a step/size behind resizing though.

Gallery setting has always been square.
So this is not working no mater what you say.

Toggle off square thumbs then back on. Thumbs came in square.
Cropped 1st photo came out small.
Stretched browser full screen and 2nd photo shows original ratio not square.
It was square on smaller screen before stretching browser.

Looks like upload is ok now. All come out good.
Toggled off square and back on and all corrected to square.
Crop tool looks like only thing needs correction.

FYI. The gallery feature photo is picking up the full cropped thumb size not the reduced size in the gallery.

It all comes back to which display copy is used.

• Anything that's a "Tile" (Folder/Gallery Content Block, etc) will use one of the Small, Medium, Large, XL, X2, X3, etc display copies, in their native aspect ratio, and then "cropped" (via CSS, hiding the overflow) to whatever aspect ratio the content block defines.
• SmugMug style thumbnails still use the Ti and Th sizes, which get pixel cropped to square or not square. If they get properly generated, then any place that uses Ti/Th will all be the same.
