That is a beautiful shot of a Cooper's Hawk. I have one that frequents my backyard as well, but normally I only see fleeting images as he swoops through hunting.

    Great shot.

    The eye of the raptor
    Awesome photo.

I especially like his eye and this claws.

Now tell us the truth, how much did you pay him to pose for you ? rolleyes1.gif

So far, I guess the bill is several chipmunks, maybe a few small birds... I think he has grown less skittish of my attempted approach...

This past summer, a red-wing blackbird would come in to the feeder area in the back yard with the groups of sparrows, finches etc...the redwing would perch atop a small magnolia, and sound the alarm when the Cooper's would come overhead...fascinating.

And like KMCC says above, he'll scare the socks off of you sometimes when you least expect it...

    What a fabulous shot.
    Your patience is admirable.
You inspire me to try harder with my F828. It can be done. You have shown that in this sharp clear gorgeous shot.

    Thanks for sharing.
