He was so close (under 3.5mt) that i had to move back to focus with my tele. As soon as i got up to go ..he ran over to see if i had dropped a prawn or two.

Tks mate....best i can see is that he's a 'white faced heron' I see him about a lot.

No crop either...i had the 400 on (so 620mm) & he was just outside my 3.5 mt button so he was about 11 or 12 feet away.

I agree telly does a better job - I actually quite enjoy listening on the radio too. This end, they even kick you out in the semis and the finals of the provincial games if you have a camera with a detachable lens umph.gif

Fortuantely, I missed the 20/20 but this week they are starting with a provincial 20/20 series here rolleyes1.gif

I cant work out whats wrong with 50 overs ? That game last night was great.

They did pack the Gabba to the hilt though & thats what its all about these days isnt it...bloody money !

As both skippers said...keep it as a season opener for a bit of fun.

    Absolutely a good catch....:lol4
Reminds me of the homeowner who put in a Koi pond, and became quite upset because Herons would come in and eat the fish... .
Went to the Local WildLife Officer for help...was laughed at..."Honey, if you put out Heron bait, you're gonna get Herons."

Good shot, Gus! Maybe I should try fishing, hahahahsaha.

It was explained to me in no uncertain terms, at the wildlife center, yesterday, that Carolina Birds are NOT pets, hate people, raptors (not that that is a raptor, they are just my waterloo) in particular.

Now I hear Australia and Florida both have "pet" birds. Oh me, or my!

None the less, that is a good catch! My dogs are pets and they are not always so cooperative, smile.

Sorry about your hand. We really do need a thread on these injuries. I love thinking that mine are not old age.

Did you remember to take a photo???

ginger (and those shells are bad stuff!)

Tks guys. No G i didnt take a shot as i was bleeding like a stuck pig & it was going everywhere & i was very keen to keep it off my crumpler & cork fishing rod handle. Freaked some japanese tourists out though but that isnt hard to do.
