Kansas wheat fields?

When are the Kansas wheat fields "in bloom"? Sometime in July, we'll be heading up to St. Louis to pick up my mom and head to Colorado for a week. We're hoping to time the trip when there are some full fields, as we travel through Kansas. We can set the dates convenient to this, fortunately.

    Harvest is generally 4th of July weekend.
