Thumbnail Caption and Padding

Can someone look at this gallery for me: https://philcorley.smugmug.com/Portfolios/Lofoten-Islands/

The question are: -

1 - How do I change the font and font color of the captions until each thumbnail ?

2 - Can I reduce the padding at the top of the Gallery to reduce the empty space to the navigation bar? It is a lot less on the Home Page layout, so hoping I can reduce this gap on the Gallery pages

I'm not seeing any captions. What font do you want to use? This is an example on how to change the color and font for the captions below the thumbnails and the lightbox:

Go to the customizer > All Galleries > Layout. Should be able to change the margins there. I'm seeing 48px right now.

Did you not see the Captions under the thumbnails on the gallery https://philcorley.smugmug.com/Portfolios/Lofoten-Islands/ ? The first image should have "Approaching Storm No. 1" as the caption just below the thumbnail

Still can't get the right CSS to change this font; tried your suggestion above - which changed the lightbox caption, but the thumbnail captions (this is Collage Landscape) didn't change

Any other ideas?

Try referencing
.sm-user-ui .sm-tile-info .sm-tile-title,
in your CSS. The text below the image in collage landscape is the title, not the caption.

Those are Titles, not Captions. Your caption for "Approaching Storm No. 1" is "Within minutes of arriving at one of the beaches at Haukland, a heavy snow storms sweeps in over the mountains quickly driving us to coverLocation: Haukland, Lofoten Islands, Norway Catalogue Reference: 7-1602-1220 Copyright © 2016 Phil Corley"....which is hidden.

You want this:

Ah learning again I assumed caption was the title and the description would be, well, description - getting there, but expect a few more newbie questions still to come
