Code Question

Once upon a time I was able to add links to my blog in my Outlook signature by using the standard <ahref.......etc.....the page...name of link , but this no longer works. When I add the hyperlink into my signature all I get is the complete sentence instead of the name, hyperlinked.
Any suggestions as to how to make this work again or what I might be doing wrong? Thanks!

Hi Sara -
I don't use Outlook so I don't know if there is an issue with the outlook signature. I still add links to my smug site from my blog and in my signature here, and they continue to work.
I use
<a href="URL here">my words here</a>
.Does Outlook have an option where it expects HTML as opposed to text?
Can you include the full <a href statement here as code?
To mark text as code, use the dropdown from the icon that looks like a backwards P, then select code.

HI, Denise - here's the code I use: Edgartown News
I go into Outlook tools>options>signatures, select the link symbol, enter the above code but all I get is a hyper-linked read out of the whole code, not Edgartown News, which is what I'm after and am pretty sure worked for me in the past.

Yeah, well it worked here. LOL

if it worked here then your code is fine.
I would guess there is a problem in Outlook with accepting a link using HTML. It's quite possible that Outlook no longer accepts HTML. Look in the Outlook interface for a way to insert a link with text.

Yeah, I thought my code was fine, too. Funny, though - I know I used to be able to add it in Outlook.

It's possible that the Outlook user interface provides a way to insert a link with text without using HTML.

Maybe, but I know this is always the way I used to do it. I'm pretty sure where it says www.sarapiazza.com beneath my name used to say My Website. Something must have changed on their end. I'll poke around, and maybe someone else on here uses Outlook and has an answer? Thanks, Denise -and happy snow day - it just started down here on the Vineyard.

Sara -
Are you asking about your signature here in DGrin? I thought you were asking about Outlook.
If you're asking about your signature in DGrin you need to use the link icon in the signature.

You can also type the entry, but it can't be HTML. It must use the coding language for this forum.
Here's an example of the google+ link in my signature:

Make sure that Outlook is set to use HTML or rich text based emails.

Got it! I'm a dummy! I was using the wrong method. Thanks to Denise, I was reminded of the correct way to do this: Type the text I want (Edgartown News), highlight, right-click, select insert hyperlink, paste address into URL bar, VOILA!
(I was trying to type the entire code into the hyperlink address bar)
Now I remember!
Thank you, Denise!
