Replacing Image - How Long to Generate Social Share Images?

So I've been using the Share feature on images a lot more this year. When I share a photo after uploading, or ones that have been on my site for a while both the Twitter & G+ works just fine.

Here's how things look in G+. (The same image will appear in Twitter.)

Earlier today I rescanned an old photo that was already on my site. Instead of deleting the original I used the "replace" tool. It's now been hours and it will not appear on either Twitter or G+. I get my footer logo.

How long does it take to regenerate these thumbs for sharing to social media?
