A little fog, a sunrise, and some fun waiting for the waterfowl to appear.

Got there early to catch the sunrise and "early birds'. Of course the wetlands were the only area steeped in fog that morning!
And then he struck a profile pose.

Great Jo! Bravo!
Great set. Always love the early morning fog images. The diffused light, the added mystery, great way to start the day.

One of my favorite types of photos. Minimal and mystery. I might consider erasing that lone stick on the far left in the last one....just above your sig. Very, very nice!
Thanks Eia. Good catch on the stick in the last one - think I'll get rid of it!

Thanks for your comments Hathingthe. No, I currently don't have any gear for water protection, although I have been looking at some. The only thing I do is carry a gallon size zip-lock bag (with the closed end cut open) just in case I need to slip it over my telephoto lens. Other than that, I've just been lucky!

As far as I know photographers in Siberia have to wear some special clothes too because wetlands are full of mosquitoes and other annoying bugs, so it's almost impossible to wait motionless for a good shot. Is it the same in your place?
Central California has the normal mosquitoes and other pests, but not so much that we have to wear special gear. I usually try to go early in the morning - doesn't seem to be as many pests at that time.
I would imagine that Siberia gets a little colder than California as well, requiring different type of clothing/protection. I would love to see and experience that part of the world.

Not much info can be found but still - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/travel_news/article-3778129/He-itching-share-Photographer-working-Siberia-reveals-eye-watering-number-mosquitoes-feasting-feet.html Just a few seconds and you're covered with these little "vampires"!
P.S. I don't know how to insert a valid link, sorry...
Thanks for the link - WOW that's an incredible amount of mosquitoes!
To insert a link in your post, copy the URL from your web page and then use the Link tool from the toolbar at the top of the comment box to paste the URL into your comment. Just be sure to have your cursor at the right place in order for it to show up correctly.

The strangest thing is that my tool bar contains only one option, I can only insert smileys. I think it's because I'm new to this forum and some options are blocked for me.
great atmosphere, really love the first image.. and of course the last. It's nice when they pose for you!
