mix galleries and folders ?

My "Travel" folder contains a mixture of subsidiary galleries and folders, sorted chronologically by trip date. But all the folders are at the top of the page, and all the independent galleries are below those. Is there any way to sort them together so that there are independent galleries mixed in with the folders, all sorted chronologically?

    Hi ,
You can't display galleries in a Folder content block. So if you are using a Folders, Galleries, Pages content block the items will display in that order. If you are using a separate Folders and a separate Galleries content block. You can place the Galleries content block above/before the Folders content block, if you wish. But, you can't intermingle galleries within a Folders content block. Or, display folders within a Galleries content block. Perhaps it would work to display All Galleries in chronological order?

I added a "Folders, Galleries, Pages" content block (under galleries) on this PAGE. In that one block I placed folders, gallery and Page.

The only drawback is they only show in the order you add them. So any new additions will be last unless you remove ones back a ways and add new one then re-add others. Although it was talked about many times I don't think they every added a sort function to this block. Also you'd have to add a link to get back to this page.

I used a PAGE to add the block but this block can be added to any of the folder, gallery or PAGE pages.
Anything that shows in a browser window is a web "page" so you have to be careful using the word "page" in Smug as they have named a page "Page".

Thanks, Guys, for responding. I'm glad to see that Allen has figured out a way to do it, though I'm not sure I understand what he is saying.

Having to move a folder or gallery after adding it is not a concern since I have to do that anyway with my current layout.

I'll give it a try; hope I don't mess up.

I can't seem to find how to add a "Content Block". I watched the video on the Help Page entitled "Fine-tune my design with content blocks", and it said to click "Customize" while on the page where I wish to add a content block. But when I do that I only get two choices: "Folder Settings" and "Folder themes". "Customize Page" doesn't show.

    Any suggestions?

When working with "Folders, Galleries, Pages" content blocks, before making any changes I take a quick photo of the current block. That's so when I add new "things" earlier in the sort I can see what I had removed and can get the removed things back.

Hi Jim. Customization features such as adding or changing content blocks are not available on the Basic plan type. In order to get this ability you would need to upgrade your account to our "Power" plan (https://www.smugmug.com/plans). Thanks for being a customer for all these years!
