Video Download Setting

I have my video galleries set to no downloads which works normal in IE. When I use Chrome however, it allows video downloads for those same galleries. Also, I could not find a way to set the viewing resolution in Chrome as can in IE. I do not want viewers to have the ability to download my videos.

Were you logged into your Chrome browser? As the owner, you can always download them but your visitors should not. Do you have a link to one so I can dig in?

I can see this on SunGlo's site in Chrome as well. Take a look at this video - http://www.sunglophoto.com/Multimedia/Natures-Wonders/i-6ZbHCQT/A.

On Edge and Firefox, no download.
On Chrome, the bar under the video showing video controls including a download arrow.

No, I was not logged in on any of my browsers. The Chrome viewer looks and works entirely different than the IE version, I would have thought it would have a standard look and feel to it. The "no downloads" setting is totally useless when it comes to Chrome.

In Chrome, do you still see this issue? The SmugMug Flash video player was temporarily not loading but appears to be working again for me. The download button isn't in there either.

Yes, it appears to be now working as expected in Chrome, matching the IE viewer. I also verified a few other of my videos with the same outcome - www.sunglophoto.com/Multimedia

The Chrome video viewer is not working again and allowing video downloads even though galleries are set to "No Downloads". No, I was not signed in, I was just viewing as a visitor.

I don't know if it is fixed permanently or not, but I am now seeing the SmugMug video player via Chrome.

Agree. Chrome here. No download arrow. Looks like it is using the SM player ATM.

It's a little unclear why chrome chooses to play the Flash player (SM branded) or not but until we can add an a new non-Flash video player we've disabled the download button on Chrome's default video player. Getting rid of all the places we still use flash is something we will have to do but I'd much rather spend our time building you all awesome new features than updating existing ones (and thus why I've held off on replacing flash so far).

So, right now Chrome is using the SM flash player. But if it gets a sandspur under it's butt and decides to use its own player again, thanks to your modification we no longer have to worry about downloads.

That's great, thanks. I guess that makes me a retired "watchdog", good, I wasn't real thrilled with the dry dog food, definitely not gourmet.

Surprise, surprise, Chrome is once again, back to using its own video player, but thanks to your modification the download icon is now missing in action...thanks.
