Collage Portrait Gallery - Text Formatting Doesn't Work

So this year I began to keep a new "photo journal" on my site. I wanted the captions to appear under the photos so I customized a Portrait Collage Gallery. The only issue I have is that the text displayed doesn't read/format my HTML that I write into the captions. Would it be possible to do something on your end that would allow it to display properly?

just basic formatting; i.e.. page breaks, bold, italics, etc..
I don't use that style, so I created a test gallery. In captions I added a link and saved it. Went to the gallery and it looks like SM strips all formating on that gallery. When I clicked on a "formatted" photo, the lightbox shows the link in the caption.
Nothing we can do until SM allows formatting text.
