"We tried to add the product to the cart, but got an error" message

A customer is getting this error as she tries to add products to her shopping cart.
Any advice on where to start looking as to what settings I may have wrong?
I'd start by having them close all instances of their browser, and then re-open the browser and try again. Also, let us know the item they were trying to add (send us a link and let us know what product). We can check to see if we run into any errors when trying to add the item to the cart. If it continues after that, have them (or you can) email us at [email protected] so we can respond quickly and dig with some additional questions to help get them squared away.
Check and see if they have 3rd party cookies enabled.
